Happy Easter to you all! Today we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ! Saint Peter in the first reading from Acts of the Apostles reminds us of all God had done in our life and the role of Jesus in our salvation story. He also emphasized our call to preach to people and testify to the risen Christ. St. Paul in his Letter to the Colossians, our second reading, re-echoes our call to seek Christ and what is above if we have been raised with Him.

As we are called by St. Peter to preach and testify to the risen Christ, St. Paul urges us to seek Christ all the more and to seek what is above. So how can we achieve these? Firstly, we have to change our lifestyles as Christians - that means we have to start paying attention to living out the teachings and gospel of Christ. We have to alter our way of life by avoiding those practices or people that lead us to sin and concentrating more on those practices or people that lead closer to God. This also means we have to take care of our bodies as the temple of the Holy Spirit by keeping it healthy, pure and godly. Secondly, we have to pay greater attention to our spiritual lives - that is our hearts and minds. Since we are God's children and given new life by Him through Christ's resurrection, we have to deepen our faith in God by cultivating better spiritual habits and practices that will bring changes in our lives and assist us in being better disciples of Christ. Thirdly, we should be examples of our risen Christ in our world and society today - that is, we have to show and share the love of our risen Christ with others in our thoughts, words and actions. We have to spread God's graces, mercies and blessings to all we encounter daily because by so doing we preach and testify to our risen Lord, as well as seek what is above.

Hence my brothers and sisters, as we celebrate our risen Lord today, let us change our lives in answer to our call to discipleship, make changes in our spiritual lives and be examples of our risen Lord in our world today by showing and sharing His gospel of love. Amen!
