26th Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year C
My brothers and sisters in Christ, let us strive to be better disciples of Christ today by loving our neighbors and by being charitable to them because we are truly blessed and loved by God.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, let us strive to be better disciples of Christ today by loving our neighbors and by being charitable to them because we are truly blessed and loved by God.
My brothers and sisters, it is time to choose to serve God only, with all our strength, power and might. Remember, we are not alone, God is with us to help us, to guide us and to assist us to serve Him well. Let us go and truly serve the Lord!
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, it was our sins that crucified our Lord on the cross, but through the grace of God, it was that same cross that brought us salvation and new life. So, let us embrace the crosses that come our way daily; and let us firmly hope and trust in God, because in Him and with Him, all our sufferings here on earth will finally lead us to the glory of heaven.
If you want to be a true disciple of Christ today, detach yourself from the world or things of the world; carry and bear your cross daily then totally dedicate and commit yourself to God by being loyal to Him and by following Him.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, it is time to conduct our affairs with humility, and we will be greater in heaven and find favor with God. So let us learn to be humble by depending solely on God through recognizing our own shortcomings and our limitations; by knowing more about ourselves through self- awareness and acknowledging our weaknesses. And lastly, by showing our love for God in our generosity and service to others.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, let us strive to enter through the narrow gate to attain the kingdom of heaven as Jesus emphasized to us in today’s gospel reading by our fidelity to the word of God through prayer, patience and perseverance, so that we can be the last who will be first, rather than the first who will become the last.
So like the Letter to the Hebrews tells us today, let us not abandon the struggle we face in being disciples of Christ in the world today, but let us persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, our leader and the perfecter of our faith who endured the cross and despised its shame so as to take His seat at the right of the throne of God for our redemption and salvation.
My dear brothers and sisters, since Jesus said, "Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more," we have been entrusted with much so let us start preparing ourselves for the kingdom of heaven by coming closer to God through a personal growth in our spiritual lives, by truly accepting the word of God and by living out the gospel of Christ we profess.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, wealth to the world is the accumulation of money, but true wealth in the sight of God, is the accumulation of grace. True wealth is stored in one’s soul because it is measured in the exercise of virtue and in the amount of love we have for God and for our neighbor. So let us store up true wealth for ourselves by performing good works, by practicing charity and by living out Christ’s message to love one another as He has loved us.
So my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, let us follow the example shown us by Jesus today as He taught His disciples to pray by adoring God, by worshiping Him, by praising Him, by thanking Him for all He does in our lives and by asking Him for our needs with sincerity of heart, with simplicity of words, and with persistent perseverance.
My brothers and sisters, let us combine the love of God shown us by Mary in today’s gospel reading with the diligence and work ethic of Martha as we continue to grow in our faith in God and come closer to Him.
So my dear friends in Christ, let us resolve today to be good samaritans to our brothers and sisters who are down and experiencing difficult situations in life by truly living out the corporal works of mercy and the spiritual works of mercy, because what you did to your neighbor or one of God’s little ones, you did to God and He will not forget it when your hour of judgment comes.
My dear friends in Christ, as laborers for God’s harvest, let us go out into the world today as missionary disciples and through authentic faith, love and service, bring our brothers and sisters closer to God by sharing God’s peace with them, by worshipping God better, by praying constantly and consistently, by faithfully serving God and our neighbor, by being generous and charitable, and by knowing more about our faith and sharing it with all.
My dear brothers and sisters, as we celebrate the Solemnity of St. Peter and St. Paul today, let us strive to follow their footsteps and example of faith by truly hearing and answering our call to discipleship; by sacrificing all for Christ and His gospel; by working hard in our spiritual lives to change our weaknesses to strengths; and by being always firm and faithful to God in all we do.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, as we celebrate the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ today, let us love God all the more in the Holy Eucharist by being grateful and thankful for His blessings, graces and mercies upon us; by deepening and strengthening our faith in Him, by saying ‘no’ to sin; by being united as one in Christ; and lastly, by committing ourselves to the poor.
