The 13th Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A
Remember my brothers and sisters, with firmness of faith in God, perseverance and charity, we will overcome all and surely not lose our reward of heaven.
Remember my brothers and sisters, with firmness of faith in God, perseverance and charity, we will overcome all and surely not lose our reward of heaven.
So my brothers and sisters in Christ, let us pray for the grace to truly detach ourselves from the world today so as to firmly attach ourselves to God, answer our call to discipleship, truly accept His word in our lives, then proclaim and live out His gospel fearlessly.
So let us go out now to re-evangelize and bring back our brothers and sisters who have left the Catholic faith, by being alert to their physical and spiritual needs, by reaching out to help and support them; and by showing compassion to them in their struggles with their faith.
My brothers and sisters, the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ teaches us to: (a) acknowledge and honor the real presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist; (b) to thank God for remaining with us through the gift of His Son in the Eucharist; and, (c) to be grateful to God for feeding and strengthening us with the Body and Blood of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
So my dear brothers and sisters, today’s Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity calls us to be one in God, in the Holy Trinity, to stay away from greed, jealousy and envy, rather focus on proclaiming God and living out His love in our thoughts, words and actions, so as to bring unity and peace into our lives and into our world.
As we celebrate and meditate on today’s Solemnity of Pentecost, let us strive to continue to love God all the more by being docile in our spiritual lives; by being prayerful and by being ready to sacrifice and work hard for the greater glory of God.
When we encounter hardships in living out the commands of Christ or feel like it is too difficult to attain or burdensome; don’t give up on yourselves or on God, rather remember Jesus’s words to us which says, “behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” - RevFICO
Let us work harder in our spiritual lives to love God more and be ready to undergo trials, persecution, challenges, suffering, struggles and pain for His sake because He will not leave us orphans; but in the end when His glory is revealed, we will surely rejoice exultantly in His kingdom in heaven.
Hence, it is time to come closer to God by deepening our faith in Him; by following Jesus’s examples and lifestyle like He followed that of His Father; and by doing great and marvelous works like Jesus did.
Let us be part of Christ’s flock and enter that gate so as to be saved by Him and enter His pasture, firstly by striving daily to know Him. Secondly, by hearing and listening to His voice to us in the Scriptures, Sacraments, Teachings and Doctrines of the Catholic Church with our hearts and not just with our ears. And lastly, by truly and sincerely following Him as members of His flock by always doing what He asks of us.
My dear brothers and sisters, let us pray in today’s Eucharistic celebration for the grace to continue persevering in our faith in God knowing that Christ journeys with us always and has granted us salvation and redemption through His passion, death and resurrection.
Brothers and sisters, as we celebrate the Divine Mercy Sunday today, let us ask God to help and assist us live our His mercy and love in our world today. Let us have His mercy, compassion, forgiveness and kindness change our lives for good to proclaim and live out His teachings in our world today.
My brothers and sisters, Christ our Lord has risen from the dead, and calls on us to rise with Him to newness of life, so it is time for us to work on our physical, mental and spiritual lives by bringing fresh vigor to our bodies and spirit, by creating a positive outlook in our minds, and hearts; and by being a vibrant presence within our community, so as to have a better relationship with God, with ourselves and with others.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, as we meditate on today’s celebration, Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord, never forget that Jesus’s passion and death was an act of love. Hence, let us reciprocate our love for God by sincerely going back to Him in sorrow; by remorsefully acknowledging our sins; by asking God for pardon through the sacrament of Confession; and lastly, by truly making amends and changing our lives like Peter did.
My dear brothers and sisters, we are really and genuinely blessed by God as His children as today’s readings remind us, but we have to acknowledge these blessings by accepting Him as our Savior and Redeemer; by admitting and proclaiming His existence in our world; and by recognizing Him in our everyday lives no matter the pain, suffering, difficulties, hardships and struggles that come our way.
