Easter Sunday
"Jesus Christ is risen! Love has triumphed over hatred, life has conquered death, light has dispelled the darkness" said Pope Francis.
With the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are called to celebrate the risen Lord in our lives by letting His love overcome all our worries, sorrows, pains, sufferings, trials, persecutions, hardships and difficulties. It is time to rise from all that pulls us down or away from God and renew our lives with God's Spirit in us. But how can we resurrect with Christ and renew our lives in Him this Easter season while facing the Corona Virus pandemic and its effects in our lives and world today?
We can resurrect with Christ today and renew our lives by seriously heeding to the instructions, information and injunctions given us by the government and healthcare officials to keep us healthy and safe from this pandemic. We can also resurrect with Christ and renew our lives in him by paying more attention to our physical health which entails respecting our bodies by taking care of it through what we eat and drink, through physical activities and by having enough rest. We can also resurrect with Christ today and renew our lives in Him by attending to our mental health, that is, letting love, compassion, peace, harmony and respect for all, be essential aspects of our daily living and by avoiding hate, prejudice, anger, resentment, jealousy, frustration and all forms of negativity. We can resurrect with Christ today and renew our lives in Him by concentrating more on our spiritual lives, that is by praying more often, by participating more in the Eucharist through live-streams and spiritual communion, by continuously hoping, trusting and having faith in God especially in these difficult and challenging times. Lastly, we can resurrect with Christ today and renew our lives in Him by being there for others in our community by spreading joy, happiness, laughter, solace, comfort and positivity among all any way we can in these trying times.
My brothers and sisters, Christ our Lord has risen from the dead, and calls on us to rise with Him to newness of life, so it is time for us to work on our physical, mental and spiritual lives by bringing fresh vigor to our bodies and spirit, by creating a positive outlook in our minds, and hearts, and by being a vibrant presence within our community, so as to have a better relationship with God, with ourselves and with others. Peace be with you and Happy Easter!
