9th January – Saint Adrian of Canterbury
I want to become a saint, cost what it may, living my life in accordance with the two cornerstones of Christianity: prayer and self-discipline - Blessed Tommaso Reggio.
O Holy Spirit, Saint Adrian was a highly successful missionary in pagan England, and a great teacher of Bible study. We ask for his same gift of explaining the Faith and understanding the teachings of the Church and the Sacred Scriptures. Anoint us with Your Truth, so that we may be protected from errors and deceptions. Help us to lovingly educate others in how to grow in holiness through what You have revealed in the Bible and the Sacred Traditions of Christianity. Keep us from becoming prideful in our knowledge, and remind us that our most important teaching tool is how we live our lives. Saint Adrian, pray for me. Amen.
