Today is the feast day of Saint Buonfiglio Monaldo, one of the several Florentine founders of the Servite Order (Servants of Mary). The founders were all inspired by a vision of Mary on the feast of the Assumption to take up a life of solitude and prayer. The seven founders of the Servite Order were canonized in 1887 by Pope Leo XIII. Saint Buonfiglio Monaldo, pray for us!
