9th July – Saint Augustine Zhao Rong and Companions
Chi Zhuzi, an 18 year old companion of Augustine Zhao Rong cried out to those who had just cut off his right arm and were preparing to flay him alive: “Every piece of my flesh, every drop of my blood will tell you that I am Christian.”
Almighty and Ever-Living God, turn our weaknesses and fears into strength and firmness of faith in You. Grant us the courage to live and suffer in faithful witness to You as Saint Augustine Zhao Rong and his companions did.
