I have no other desire upon earth than to do penance and to preach penance as a poor Franciscan.
My dear friends in Christ, this Advent season let us do penance for our sins, as a process of interior purification, by doing acts of mercy or charity, and mortification, so as to change our lives, and remain firm and faithful to God.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all men generously and without reproaching, and it will be given him - Saint James the Greater.
So my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, it is time to grow, nurture and deepen our faith in God as Jesus taught us in today’s gospel reading. So let us do so, by living out the gospel of Christ when we practice the virtues of Patience, Perseverance, Humility and Confidence in God.
So my brothers and sisters, since today’s Palm Sunday celebration calls us to pledge our allegiance and loyalty to God who loves us through penance, mortification, fasting, charity and prayers, let us do so today with Humility, Patience and firmness of faith in Him as we participate in His passion and death this Holy Week.
