Venturino was born at Bergamo, and received the habit of the Order of Friars Preachers at the convent of St. Stephen, Bergamo, Italy on 22nd January 1319. Soon he distinguished himself as a brilliant preacher, attracting huge crowds throughout northern Italy from 1328 to 1335.
Lord, help me preach and proclaim your gospel ceaselessly and fearlessly in the world today. Amen!
So my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, it is time to grow, nurture and deepen our faith in God as Jesus taught us in today’s gospel reading. So let us do so, by living out the gospel of Christ when we practice the virtues of Patience, Perseverance, Humility and Confidence in God.
So my brothers and sisters, since today’s Palm Sunday celebration calls us to pledge our allegiance and loyalty to God who loves us through penance, mortification, fasting, charity and prayers, let us do so today with Humility, Patience and firmness of faith in Him as we participate in His passion and death this Holy Week.
