18th April - Saint Apollonius the Apologist
No, I enjoy life; but love of life does not make me afraid to die. There is waiting for me something better: eternal life, given to the person who has lived well on earth – St. Apollonius the Apologist when asked by the Roman senate at his trial if he wanted to die.
Lord God, you call us to live a life of holiness and sanctity. Through the example of St. Apollonius we may be strengthen to proclaim Our Faith to the people who know You not. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
