16th May – Saint Simon Stock
Tradition says that, the Blessed Virgin appeared to Simon, bringing him the Brown Scapular of Mount Carmel. “This shall be the privilege for you and for all the Carmelites,” she told him, “that anyone dying in this habit shall not suffer eternal fire.”
Heavenly Father, you called Saint Simon Stock to serve you in the brotherhood of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Through his prayers, help us, like him, to live in your presence, and to work for the salvation of the human family. Amen
