14 November – Saint Lawrence O’Toole
‘I thank God that I have not a penny in the world to dispose of,’ Lawrence on his deathbed when someone asked him if he had a will. His last thoughts of his people in Dublin were, “Alas, you poor, foolish people, what will you do now? Who will take care of you in your trouble? Who will help you?”
Saint Lawrence O'Toole, as a holy and poor bishop, you gave all you had to the poor and to those in need, putting your trust in God alone. Pray that we may have the same trust in God, notwithstanding the financial woes and lacks we face. Amen. (Franciscan Penance Library)
