As we celebrate the birthday of the Catholic Church today, on Pentecost Sunday, let us put into action the gifts of the Holy Spirit we received on our Confirmation day that made us soldiers of Christ by loving God and our neighbor better, by being docile in our faith, by being more prayerful, by being more forgiving, by being willing to suffer for Christ and for the sake of the gospel, and lastly, by being united in Christ and dedicated to Him.
Brothers and sisters in Christ, the life we have today is not guaranteed because it is a gift from God, but our acts of kindness, compassion and goodness which are acts of gratitude, guarantees us a place in heaven. So let us strive to show gratitude to God always for all His blessings, gifts, talents, graces and mercies upon us in our love for our neighbors.
If you want to be a true disciple of Christ today, detach yourself from the world or things of the world; carry and bear your cross daily then totally dedicate and commit yourself to God by being loyal to Him and by following Him.
