12th May - Saints Nereus and Achilleus
Nereus and Achilleus were soldiers who carried out the cruel orders of the tyrant out of fear. Then came a miracle of faith and they gave up their savagery, were converted, fled the camp of their evil leader, throwing away their shields, armor, and bloody spears.
