Girded with faith and the performance of good works, let us follow in his (Jesus) paths by the guidance of the Gospel.
Almighty God, give me wisdom to perceive You, intelligence to understand You, diligence to seek You, patience to wait for You, eyes to behold You, a heart to meditate upon You and life to proclaim You, through the power of the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ - St. Benedict.
My brothers and sisters, let us always participate prayerfully and actively in the celebration of the Eucharist because true and authentic participation in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, identifies us with Jesus’s Heart, sustains our strength along the pilgrimage of this life, makes us long for eternal life, and unites us even now to the Church in heaven, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and all the saints.
Since Humility is the first and most important step toward a life of holiness and the foundation of all virtues, let us live humbly before God and deepen our relationship with Him by always acknowledging our lowliness and sinfulness before Him like Prophet Isaiah, St. Paul and St. Peter did in today’s readings. Always remember the words of St. Augustine that states, “the way to Christ is first through humility, second through humility, third, through humility”
Today let us give thanks to God for the gift of the Holy Eucharist by appreciating and showing gratitude to Him for feeding and strengthening us with His Most Precious Body and Blood. Let us respect, acknowledge and honor the real presence of Christ when we worship and adore Him in the Most Holy Eucharist. Lastly, let us renew our faith in God and deepen our relationship with Him so that we can sincerely and truthfully witness to Him in our world today.
